Addressing Societal Issues with Biblical Truth in Love
An evangelical Christian church like Fairview Community Church is under attack from three societal movements. These movements seek to destroy or neutralize the influence of the church on society. The elders at FCC do not want the church to stand back in passive silence, but instead, speak out against these movements. See 1 Peter 3:15; Ephesians 4:14–16; Colossians 4:6.
First, there is a movement that teaches all roads lead to God. This movement contradicts the basic biblical principle that salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ. FCC will publicly speak out against these all roads lead to God movements, and instead, proclaim that salvation is available only through Jesus Christ.Second, there is a societal “pro-choice” movement that essentially encourages abortion.
Examination of the Scriptures establishes that abortion is murder. FCC will publicly speak out against abortion, but will do so with love and with speech seasoned with grace and salt. Forgiveness and salvation is available to all who have had or facilitated an abortion.
Third, the LGBTQ movement is a strong political and societal movement who aggressively attacks evangelical Christian churches like FCC with the goal to silence or destroy these churches. The two primary components of the LGBTQ movement are homosexual practice and transgenderism. FCC will publicly speak out the biblical truth that either one of homosexual practice and transgenderism is sin, but will do so with love and with speech seasoned with grace and salt. Forgiveness and salvation is available to all who are encumbered in the homosexual or transgender lifestyle.
